  • Specifications

The 1998 edition of the Anglican Breviary is an exact photographic reprint of the original 1955 edition published by the Frank Gavin Liturgical Foundation.  Apart from a tiny date inscription on the frontispiece, not one letter in the original has been changed.  The typeface and size, layout, pagination and even typographical errors appearing in the original have been preserved.

The book is a single volume containing everything one needs to recite all eight daily offices on every day of the Church Year.  The Ordo Kalendar used is substantially identical to the Roman Kalendar in effect in 1955.

The Breviary is comprised of 2000 pages of red and black text, with a smith-sewn binding and a high quality semi-hard leatherette cover.  Dimensions of the volume are 7.75 in. by 5.75 in. by 1.75 inches.  The pages are gilt-edged, and the title is stamped in gold-coloured foil on the spine.  Five coloured ribbons are sewn into the binding for use as page-markers.
